This project, hopefully, reflects my love for both the faded grandeur look and 18th century Venetian style furniture. But the real beauty is creating an opulent look on a shoestring!

The mouldings, pediment, and finials were collected car boot finds and strategically added to enhance this vision. The colour palette was based on the glaucus blue tone of eucalyptus.

In reality I used a base of French Linen Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan, patches of Duck Egg Blue and Louis Blue, washed with Paris Grey.

Additional layering and ageing involved a plant mister spray of diluted Olive to push into the detail and create watermarks and patina.

I could go on forever because as you can see I’ve lavished a lot of Painted Love on this ‘tired old lady’.
