Last week I taught my very last UK workshop of 2017 using Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan. As usual what an amazing bunch of talented women joined us in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds to attend our workshop.
This time we had not just one, but three Annie Sloan stockists, who all took time out from their own busy schedules to pick up some new and different techniques of mine to work into their own painting projects and commissions and of course to share with their customers. I felt immensely flattered and it was brilliant to have their cumulative talents on board to create a real one-off experience for the other delegates, a couple of whom had never even painted before!
As usual, we spent the first day with show and tell on two key pieces, then with attendees working through some of my key techniques themselves on a variety of boards. I walked them through my unique approach to wet distress, one-brush blending, horizontal and circular ombre and always popular, my fossilised leaf technique.
Day two is all about taking their own pieces and applying whichever techniques they’d like to experiment with under by one-to-one tuition. We also always make some time for propping and styling, learning tips, hints and hacks on how to get the best from simple iPhone or iPad photography to help pieces look more appealing to sell on local sites or through their own pages.
Check out their projects, all are so very individual. Well done team!
