Ombré is making a massive splash in interior trends at the moment. This little mid century modern cabinet has had the Jonathon Marc Mendes ‘one brush blend’ treatment during my most recent workshop. You may have seen the ombré technique before using blended colours from top to bottom or bottom to top. You know me. I decided to make my life a little more difficult by blending from one corner outwards to the base right hand corner, a little like the ripples on a pond.
The colours I chose to use are also pretty on trend for the current botanical mood. They were a base coat of Old White Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan, blending into lovely limited edition Lem Lem, Provence, Florence and a touch of Amsterdam Green.
I updated the handles from two either side of each drawer to these warehouse/industrial pulls with a label slot for a contemporary look. What do you think?
