Contrasting colour – what a transformation!

Today’s project is all about contrasting colours. I have chosen to use my blending technique on this sideboard and have applied the Annie Sloan colours Provence, English Yellow and Lem Lem.

You may have thought I’d put rusty handles onto this project but no the originals were brass… with a simple paint treatment of Barcelona Orange and Arles, a little transfer medium and a dusting of ground cinnamon – hey presto, you have a natural rusty finish on your hardware to contrast with the main body of the sideboard.

And let’s not forget the brick background! This is also a great contrasting colour to make the piece of furniture stand out at its best. Don’t you think?
