I really love the simplicity of this Christmas project. All it takes is a handful of clean glass jars. They could be from coffee or sauce or jam jars. It works best to have a cluster of different sizes, heights and widths. All you need to be sure of is that a tealight will fit inside!

This is such a super simple project. All you need is Gold Size by Annie Sloan and some metallic leaf. You can use brass for a gold effect, aluminium for silver or copper as I have done. Simply apply a light coat with an artistry brush to the clean, dry surface of the glass and once it is semi-dry and has reached its tacky bluish colour it is ready to apply the leaf.

You can use loose or transfer and gently ease into place with a soft, dry brush. Once thoroughly dry, brush away the excess with your brush.

I’d love to see your versions of this. Some of you have been creating absolute masterpieces with my Rusty Baubles Saltwash project and I think this has the same capacity for personal interpretation and mega styling. Please share on my page or tag me in Instagram (that’s @jonathonmarcmendes_paintedlove) I can spot your work!
