One of the things I love most about being a well known furniture artist is that I get to work with some seriously lovely people, like Carol & Jaime, the co-creators and founders of Saltwash.

Around this time last year I become Global Creative Ambassador for their fabulous brand and we got together to launch #SaltwashSeptember. I can’t believe a year has gone by and here we are again with 3 really exciting things to tell you about!

NEW Antique Iron Door Tutorial

DIY cheap wood door with becomes a ‘French antique’ – learn how here!

I have just launched a wonderful guest tutorial by Carol into the Painted Love Academy. Who better to show you, step by step in a fantastic video than Carol herself as she takes you through how to create this authentic looking French Antique Iron Door from a cheap DIY wooden screen.

Carol was inspired by the doors in New Orleans to achieve this beautiful look for the porch of her family home in North Carolina. It could be a Parisian side street, a conservatory or orangery, you could apply it to your workshop or summerhouse. How about creating some old screens or shutters for a photographic backdrop for your furniture? The possibilities are endless with this look, I just love it and I think you’ll find Carol’s warm, friendly teaching style is kind of like mine. I am certain you are going to love it! The feedback so far has been fabulous.

Saltwash Verdigris Tutorial – on SALE til the end of September

Saltwash Verdigris – using ‘lead’ colours – such a versatile technique just £7.50!

To celebrate #SaltwashSeptember my super popular Saltwash Verdigris tutorial is on sale, reduced from £20 to just £7.50 for the whole month.

It is one of my most popular tutorials as it is utterly transformative, taking basic plastic pots and turning them into antique style objects of great beauty. Depending on the paint colours you choose you can achieve the aged copper look of Verdigris, as I teach, or you can create Rust, or Lead.

This fabulous tutorial is one of the most popular in my Painted Love Academy and once you’ve taken it you’ll be ready for the 3rd and finally exciting bit of news!
